Voice Features

q

Note: If we are text-enabling a landline, your voice service and features will not change. This article does not apply to you.

If you have purchased a brand new number with Gnymble, you will need to decide how you want to handle incoming phone calls to that number. We offer three solutions:

1) Call Forwarding

Provide your onboarding specialist with a phone number that you’d like to ring when people call your Gnymble number. We will pass the call to your desired phone number so you can utilize all your existing features (voicemail, call screening, etc.).

To mask or not to mask:

With Masking: We display your Gnymble number on your caller ID so you know the caller was reaching out to your business and you can answer appropriately.

Without Masking: We pass the caller ID of the caller to your phone so you know exactly who is calling. However, you won’t know if they called you directly or if they called your Gnymble number and were forwarded.

2) Generic automated message

When someone calls your Gnymble number, they will hear an automated message stating that this phone number is for texting only:

“This number does not accept voice calls. Please text us instead.”

This is the default configuration when your account is created. Give us a call at (757) 447-0202 to hear the generic automated message.

 3) Customized automated message

If you’d like your callers to know that they’ve reached the correct company but you don’t want to receive the phone calls, we can customize the automated message. Contact our support team by text message from your account to request a customized message. When logged in to your Gnymble account, click your profile icon, choose Support and send us a message (we generally respond within 15 minutes during normal business hours).
